Garnet Abrasive

Garnet abrasive, also known as "water jet sand" or "natural diamond sand", has strong hardness and good acid and alkali resistance, and is an island-structure of aluminum (calcium) silicate. Garnet sand, made by grinding garnet as raw material, has the characteristics of high hardness, high temperature resistance, stable chemical properties, uniform particles, high grinding efficiency, and no scratches. It is suitable for the waterjet cutting industry; various metal, plastic, wood and other surface sandblasting treatment industries; super precision grinding, precision casting and grinding of picture tube glass shells, optical glass, silicon chips, etc. in the mechanical industry.

Application	The main uses of garnet sand include:  (1) Sand blasting and rust removal of steel structures, hulls, bridges, etc;  (2) Water jet sand for cutting of metal, stone, glass, etc;  (3) Filter media for chemical, petroleum, and water treatment;  (4) Grinding of materials such as marble, optical lenses, glassware, leather, etc;  (5) Grinding wheel, oilstone, sandcloth, sandpaper raw materials;  (6) Wear resistant materials such as expressway pavement, runway, wear-resistant rubber, anti-skid paint, etc; (7) Widely used in the construction industry, exterior wall decoration and interior decoration, it is an ideal new type of non-metallic wear-resistant floor aggregate.
Recommendation	Commonly used particle size:  20-40 grit for sandblasting and rust removal,  60 grit for cutting stainless steel, copper, and marble products,  80 grit for cutting glass and ceramic products.
